Seriously, when you're driving down the road and you see a cardboard box in the middle of said road, don't run over it, because it could have kittens in it, or nails.

Options.
I'm thinking about getting contact lenses, but still wearing (empty) glasses frames as a fashion accessory. Please help me understand why this is a bad idea.

Eye security purposes. You will look smarter. When needed you can whip them off to visually make a point.
After recently witnessing a bespectacled friend having a teary eyed experience while chopping an onion, including, but not limited to, the spectacles suddenly flying across the room a thought has occurred to me - when I wear contact lenses my eyes do not tear up, if I wear glasses they do. I will chop the next onion....
